Clinique 2-in-1 Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer

After a year or more of BB, CC,DD and even EE creams, it seems the beauty world has returned to good old foundations – and high coverage ones at that. The latest addition to the extensive Clinique foundation range is the new Clinique 2-in-1 Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer. It’s a liquid foundation and concealer and can be used as either. Applied all over the face like a foundation, or dotted on as a concealer. It’s a full coverage foundation, but the key is that it is very, very, light.

It has a breathable formula which adapts to the skin’s needs with dual-sphere particles that absorb excess oil or add hydration – whatever your skin needs. That means dry patches are treated to extra hydration and shiny areas get zapped with oil-absorbing particles. The polymers in the formula won’t dry out and help make-up glide on easily. This new foundation has a doe foot applicator – use it to apply dots all over the face, or turn it sideways to spread across the cheeks and larger areas on the face. Or, you can use the top of it to cover smaller imperfections on the face.

This foundation is full coverage and you will see that the minute it is applied. It is blend-able, but you do need to work it well and don’t apply too much. In order to get great coverage you don’t need a lot at all. If you love a ‘proper’ foundation, you should try this one out. I also used it over my lighter BB cream in part as a concealer on the dark ‘bags’ under my eyes and it blends in beautifully. The new Clinique 2-in-1 Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer is available to purchase online here.

My Winter Skincare Regime

Dropping temperatures and cold winds can go hand-in-hand with dry, sullen skin. But—they don’t have to. Cold winter air lacks humidity and dries up your skin’s natural oils, causing it to lose moisture. The solution? Skincare products that offer intense hydration.

When planning your winter skincare regimen, you should consider any existing skin conditions you may have. The harsh wintery weather not only irritates the healthiest of skin but can also make current skin conditions like dandruff, psoriasis or eczema for example, much worse.

I have to admit when I headed to New York last year I totally under estimated the change the cold would have on my skin and ended up spending a fortune on skincare trying to set my skin right again. With that in mind I have spent the few months trailing and testing what I can and now I’m excited to share with you my new and improved skincare regime.

First up, my daily cleansing and moisturising regime :

I use the Alpha H Balancing Cleanser every day and night. I can honestly say that this product actually changed my skin for the better. I saw changes from day one and now a month since adding it to my regime, I have the most flawless skin I have in years! I am a firm believer in the feeling of soapy bubbles, so of a nigh time I follow up my Alpha H Balancing Cleanser with the Clinique Foaming Cleanser to ensure all my makeup from the day is removed thoroughly.

After I am out of the shower I use the Alpha H Instant Facial. This product claims to and has over the last month has refined my pore size, reduce dead skin build-up, softened those little wrinkles leaving the skin looking instantly fresher, smoother and more radiant. Note: You apply this using cotton pads to use this cleanser, so don’t forget to add these to your shopping list too!

Once a week I apply the Biore Self-Heating One Minute Mask (not pictured). I love this product because you feel it working. At first the heat really did frighten me, but now I understand its opening the pours and draws out the dirt (yuk) but it leaves my skin so smooth. These babies are so good I went to five stores on the weekend and they were sold out everywhere! After that I apply Clinique Dark Spot Corrector available here, followed by the Philosophy Hope in a Jar which is super hydrating drink of water for the skin.
